why do black celebrities change their names to really funny names?

its stupid. common, dmx, dre, etc. are they embarrassed of their real names? i think their fake names are worse

You do know those are all rappers, right?
And that having a street name is part of the culture, right?

Dweezil Zappa was named by his parents, Mrs. and Mister Zappa, Brainiac. So was his sister, Moon Unit Zappa.

Maybe they do it to hide from their numerous felonies and to prove that felons can get jobs (rapping I guess).
