This is the character I will always remember most for Mr. Welsh and -- along with Agent Cooper -- the best thing about season 2 of Twin Peaks.

As it has recently been announced (sort of) that a new film will be introduced at the Cannes Film Festival next month, rumors are running wild that it will be a new Lynch film.

To that end, the speculation continues that if it is a Lynch film will it be, in effect, part 4 of Twin Peaks? Or at least an extension of Twin Peaks in some abstract way?

All that to speculate: Will Windom Earle make an appearance? It might appear hopeless to wish that, but there is reasonable speculation that Donna would make an appearance in the next Twin Peaks installment, so why not Earle?

The last thing I heard about Lynch was something to do with an updated Inland Empire? No idea.

Yes apparently Criterion has announced Inland Empire will soon get the 4k treatment and released later this year.

Hoping the same for Lost Highway.

The rumor of a new Lynch project comes from a tweet by Kaleem Aftab that reads:

"There is going to be a movie at Cannes from one of the best American directors in history! He made two of my all time favorite movies (and we can argue all night over others) and fave TV series. This movie has been kept well under wraps... some even doubt it exists!"

Wouldn't be unprecedented for Lynch to do this, I think Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Season 3 of Twin Peaks premiered at Cannes.
