While Kristen receiving an Oscar nomination for Personal Shopper is virtually nil despite all the rave reviews she has received for her performance as Maureen, hopefully this means she could be in the running for an Independent Spirit Awards nom come awards season.
This is pretty impressive for the movie to be listed so highly. Kristen continues to get great reviews for her work here, and while the movie does have it's ups and downs it's still regarded as very well done indeed.
shareIndieWire is supposedly the preeminent source for indie film news so I'm hoping Film Independent members will consider her role in this film for their Independent Spirit Awards come February 2018--although I'm not getting my hopes up too high since they snubbed Kristen in 2015 despite her receiving more prestigious critical acclaim than any--yes ANY--actress that year, not to mention she became the first American actress to have ever won a Cesar award for her stellar performance in Clouds of Sils Maria. Additionally, awards voters seem to have a short memory when it comes to voting for acting performances and will mostly choose performances in films which are released much later in the year and Independent Spirit Awards nominees don't seem to be an exception especially during the past few years where most of their actor nominees mirrored those nominated by the Academy.
