Why Is This Man Still Getting Work?

His last few films have flopped/were critically reviled, he has a history of fighting with, and bullying, his colleagues, and once prompted George Clooney (who, despite the occasional smugness, really does seem like a terrific guy) to hit him, in view of the way he was treating the extras on Three Kings, and, more importantly, he was credibly accused by his niece of sexually assaulting her.

I've liked a few of his films (including American Hustle, The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook, and even Joy), but he still gives me hack vibes, especially after reading about Amsterdam, which I've yet to see (i.e. "Jewish war-hero doctor [played by NON-JEWISH] Christian Bale teams up with Black war-hero lawyer, to uncover conspiracy by white supremacist billionaires yada-yada-yada" - how 'complex' and 'challenging'... *sigh* I do despise films where the heroes and villains are so obviously stacked with zero subtlety and nuance...)
