I don't particularly enjoy his performances, he seems trapped in the role of the creepy asshole. But it seems to me he based his carreer on being the poor man version of Leo.

I bet my left ball that Bertolucci wanted Leo for The Dreamers, but had to fall back on this guy. Same for Silk.
