Help me prepare for his TWD arch

What are some of his notable roles? I seen him in that horror movie he did recently, and this guy is just awesome. I especially want to see him in lead movie roles, but I prefer to see him as the lead on a tv show. I think he was in Gilmore Girls but that's not my kind of show. I know he was in Supernatural, but my niece just told me he has small parts in it.

Where do you fans recommend I start? Maybe a couple movies before getting into a tv show he's done? Got any favorite shows of his?

i LOVED Heist! I usually won't watch a movie about robberies, but I wanted to see JDM. And I am so glad I did because 1) the movie has just a small heist scene, the rest is about the getaway. And 2) JDM was the main character and he was so great in it. It's not the best written movie but it's still good and worth a watch.
