One of the most underrated Director/Writer's in Cinema history

For me Kaufman doesn't get the respect he deserves for creating some of the best work from a American director in the late 70's until the 90's. I love that some of his work is challenging and not commercial fare. To get them made during the time he did is a amazing feat.

He wrote Raiders of The Last Ark.

Directed one of the greatest remakes of all time in Invasion of The Body Snatchers, that's probably even better then the original. One of the best gang films in The Wanderer. One of the best film's of the 80's for me in The Right Stuff. A beautiful adaption of The Unbearable Lightness of Being. A underrated biopic in Henry & June. A gem of a film in Quills.

Not a bad run, he's done some stinkers in Twisted and Rising Sun. But he deserves a lot more praise then he gets imo.
