When I was a kid

Renee Houston would turn up on TV as a rather large lady doing comic songs and I remember noticing that she was one of the few people my dad would seem to notice. But having just watched A Girl Must Live, I get it. She was beautiful, as bit saucy and funny in this 1939 film and I guess that impression lived on.
