Rape character

I get it that this guy is a talented actor. However, I find it a bit peculiar that he has participated in 2 (TWO) rape scenes. That is a bit bothersome. He rapes Samantha Taggert on an episode of ER after he kidnaps her in a season finale, and now he is the rapist in a very long and brutal scene involving one of the main teenage characters in, "The Last House on the Left".

Two or three roles abusing women out of 76 (and counting) roles doesn't seem to form much of a trend. He plays good guys and bad. Lots of actors do that.
