Terrible actress

One of the worst actresses to appear on TV. I don't see how she's underrated.

Perfectly cast as the personally vulnerable professional in Mad Men. The story arc of her trying to no avail to ingratiate herself to Draper's daughter was drama that many can relate to in real life. I hope Mad Men finds a way to keep her.

I liked her in Mad Men but I thought her character was too contemporary in attitude and behavior. They nailed her look but the rest of it seemed out of place for mid 1960s professional work.

OP, I couldn't disagree more. Cara was excellent in Mad Men, and in everything else I've seen her in.

Opinions vary. Widely.

And the trolls keep coming...

I have not seen (or at least noticed) her in anything but Dead Zone. She was HORRIBLE in DZ. It is possible that it was the material, and not her, though. DZ was pretty rough once she showed up.

Well, she seems to have done pretty well getting jobs in her career...55 of them, which included several series. I guess those producers tend not to agree with you. I have a theory about why actors appeal or don't appeal to viewers. I think that it has a lot to do with the roles being played and the viewers are just too dumb to realize that they just don't like the characters. In any event, Cara probably doesn't even have to rely on an acting career, because she graduated with a double major in only 3 years, from Columbia University. What have you done with your life so far, besides extend your career trolling?

Don't know what you've seen her in but you must see her in Law and Order in ''Punk', 1998, before making any judgement on her acting. Only thing I've seen her in but she's outstanding.

reply

She's pretty decent in Stranger Things.

I don't remember her being bad on Mad Men, but I found her performance in Stranger Things to be rather grating. She came across as overly dramatic, self-indulgent, and downright attention-seeking, overreacting in every beat like she was desperately trying to steal the scene. I don't understand how anyone thought it was a good idea to cast her as a suburban mother. She and Winona Ryder were the most annoying actors on the show IMO.
