King of Glam

For a time Marc Bolan had success comparable to the Beatles in the UK with eight singles at either number one or number two from 1970 to 1972, his stardom began to wane as Glam Rock became old hat but I wonder how his career would have developed had his life not been cut short by car crash in 1977.

I can envision him finally breaking America in the 1980’s with a little help from MTV, and probably going solo rather than using the T Rex name, but still after all these years his unique brilliance shines on.
