On Talking Dead

Watching Talking Dead after the Walking Dead season finale, and Hardwick cracked "you have a show that's just you riding motorcycles around the country? Are they giving out free vibrators with that?" I thought it was actually really endearing how embarrassed Reedus got. The dude was actually blushing, and that's a sign of humility. He does seem to be very genuine, and that's why I've always liked him even though he's not necessarily one of my favorite "acting" actors.

It would have been just as disrespectful if a young girl asked the question. But if the producers weren't going for the "eww" factor in the reaction of the audience to the question, they should have picked someone else. And attractive girl about Beth's age, perhaps. Or how about picking a hot young guy wondering when he'll get to see naked Daryl in the shower? No, they wanted to perpetuate the notion that silly, older women all have the hots for Daryl.
What makes you think dozens of varied people asked those kinds of questions? Should they have told this lady "nah, you're not pretty enough, we can't ask your question on air" and instead hired someone hot and young to pretend to ask the question? As someone who has watched the show from the beginning and has followed the man on Twitter for 5 years, I hate to break it to you but a LARGE proportion of his diehards are middle aged women, and many of them are not hotties. There's nothing wrong with that, and that's not to say there are no younger women who like him - hell, I know a 15-year-old who made herself a t-shirt that said "Mrs. Daryl Dixon" on it - but the reality is that the majority of his diehards seem to be older, married women.

Instead of blaming the show for whose question they chose, you should consider the fact that maybe it's his fans who suck for being unable to control their hormones and asking questions like that in the first place. Seriously, you can ask him ANYTHING, and that's what you go for? Maybe JDM didn't get a question like that because his fans actually like him for his acting, not because he's a hot piece of ass. JDM is a very handsome guy and I have a huge crush on him, but I'm a fan of his acting first. And if I had the opportunity to ask him a Skype question, it would be about the show, his character or his work - I sure as HELL would never embarrass both him and myself by asking such a ridiculous question.
