Jennifer Garner Heads to T.D. Jakes' Church to Declare Her Faith Restored

Faith and going to church have always been a part of her life, Jennifer Garner says, even if she doesn't talk about her relationship with God often.

"It makes kind of, 'Ahhhh,'" she said during a sit-down beside Pastor T.D. Jakes.

But after she took on the role of Christy Beam, in Miracles From Heaven, the actress felt compelled to return to the faith of her childhood and pass it along to her children.

"I will say that being around this community, and while I've always gone to church in West Virginia, that when I got back to Los Angeles, I was talking to my kids about the movie, and they said, 'Mom you don't take us to church,' and we went that Sunday, and they went today without me. That decision was a direct gift from this movie and for that I'm very grateful," Garner says.

exactly, the reason why i know she is not a christian is why would she ever do that vanity fair video if she was? if it was a movie it would be different because that's her job but she didn't have to do this video for her career.

Its people like you who are the reason I dont go to church.... Because having a sense of humor makes you a bad Christian.

I'd recommend Waveside Church in Malibu by Pepperdine for her and her family.

Call me jaded, but I'm suspecting that was just a PR move for the movie.

The Christian thing fits in with her soccer mom/long-suffering wife image so I guess she embraces it; watching her drag the fam on pap strolls to church with Ben are unintentionally hilarious.

but she's not a Christian because of that commercial she made where she said the f word like 30 times. a Christian would never do that if it's not important for their career.

How does a person make you a bad Christian? If you follow the Ten Commandments, and believe, your're pretty much good to go. Not what other people's opinions are.

I believe her, she already did TWO Disney family films (2012's "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" & 2014's "Alexander and the No Good, Horrible, Terrible, Very Bad Day"-whew! got through THAT title!) in addition to the Sony 2016 "Miracles from Heaven" mentioned...and she's a true PATRIOT! (Even though Democrat!) Love her! And she's apple cheeked cute, and funny...remember the rendition, of "Low Rider', if you ever saw the movie, in "Timothy Green"! You go, Jennifer!
