Natasha's upbringing

Natasha was so accomplished and gifted in so many areas: talented actress, gorgeous, well-loved by friends, etc. I've also heard she was quite an accomplished cook. I know Vanessa was gone a lot during her childhood, and I'm wondering where Natasha got the passion for cooking/entertaining? Innate quality or did she have a type of mentor in her youth? Anyone know?

King Lear had a lot of "senior moments"

I did see Rosanna Arquette's documentary, and I thought it was terrific at the time. Of course nowadays there are many more roles for older actresses, which, career-wise, makes Natasha's death all the sadder (infuriating, actually, given how senseless it was).

"Vanessa is interviewed for a bit, and it shows her defending her decision to fight her causes at the expense of family time. I have to admit, it did sound a bit cold, but different strokes for different folks, I guess."

I couldn't agree with you more. It's one thing to be a single mother and have to travel for work in order to support one's children, but--in addition--to leave them in order to speak on behalf of other people's children doesn't seem too fair to her own. Still, as Vanessa said (rather defensively), in a Charlie Rose interview, they turned out well, didn't they?

Vivien Leigh is fascinating, but for me, apart from her extraordinary beauty and charm, the fascination lies in the fact that she was apparently mentally ill for most of her adult life and still managed to function and achieve so much. Natasha managed to be fascinating without suffering from any major psychoses--just a few quite understandable neuroses, which only seem to have made her friends love her more.
