I'm spending my social distancing time digging around and unearthing favourite stars who do not have any posts at present...

One of the great character stars of the 1930s and 40s... I'm always on the lookout for recommendations - what are your favourite performances by Mary Astor?

1. The Palm Beach Story (1942) ** sublime, hilarious... one of the great comic performances of the '40s.
2. Dodsworth (1937)
3. The Maltese Falcon (1941)
4. The Great Lie (1941)
5. Desert Fury (1947) **this is actually a rather poor movie, but Astor, in a key supporting role, is magic and makes the thing worth sitting through.
