Allowing the pressures of society to get to you would mean that that you're not "mentally fine."

indeed. but trying to solely blame those of differing orientations for their higher rates of depression is misleading and dishonest. you cannot devalue how much of an impact societal bigotry has towards the mental wellbeing of people. it's still bad enough for gay men and women, and it is clearly worse for trans individuals. i'm not a trans person but with all this nonsense about bathroom legislation targeting the trasn community, and all the vitriol that has come with it, if i were trans it would sure make me very depressed!
