I think Carmen Miranda is better remembered then most people think. I am born in Norway and learned of Carmen when studying in The USA during the 1980's. Since then I always looked out for her name and movies. Some of them were found in video stores in Norway during the 1980's and she has always been well covered in film books and magazines. I have been to the Carmen Miranda Museum in Rio de Janeiro, awesome place, but sadly very gloomy and dark, considered how colorful Carmen was. Two years ago there was another fantastic exhibition of Carmen during the Rio fashion week. It was fantastic. All in all I would say Carmen Miranda is a cinematic legend. She had few films to her name as the lead actress, always the second female lead. But must of these films lived on because of Carmen, therefore aknowledges, she was a true star in every way. Her tragic life, like many legends, only made her more interesting. Many people can relate to some of the sadness she encountered in her love life and personal life. All her fans will always make sure she is remembered and new fans will make the legend live on.
