What current actor is most similar to him?

I love Jack Lemmon. He was one of a kind. But lets say, god forbid, someone was doing a remake of a Jack Lemmon film- whether it's Save the Tiger or the Apartment- and they were casting for Lemmon's role. In your opinion, who would be the best choice to try to fill his larger than life shoes?

I'm asking for a very nerdy reason- I wrote a script and realized that I had Lemmon in mind for the protagonist, but obviously he has passed away (RIP) and would no longer be a young man anyway. This character is in his early 60's. Sort of Lemmon around the time of Missing and The China Syndrome.

Any suggestions?

Indeed, Macy is pretty much doing a Jack Lemmon in the first series of Shameless when the agrophobic woman handcuffs him to the bed, the schtick is exactly the same.

First suggestion, OP: You are obviously a fanboy amateur, so no studio will ever read your script, so the discussion ends there.

Heath Ledger channeled Lemmon brilliantly in The Dark Knight, then
he died. Lemmon was a comic actor, not a comedian, much like Peter Sellers. We do not have those any more.

BUT

You are correct --- Lemmon was an actor who could excel at both Comedy and Drama
