How did she became a naturalized German citizen?

It says in her biography, in September 2011, she has been naturalized and now has dual nationality. How did she did that?

reply

Probably because her Parents are from there?

reply

Her father is german and i believe her mother is swedish and Kirsten herself was born in USA.

reply

Hu ?

Can she even speak german ?

Not that I couldnt talk to her, since I can speak english (well, more or less), but its very curious why an US citizen would want to be german citizen, too ?

She probably likes to visit her relatives or travel there without having to clear customs and immigration at the airport. Of course, also to work in films without needing extra permits.

Wow,the previous 4 replies must be among the dumbest I have ever read. First off since her father was a German citizen at the time of her birth she automatically is a citizen of Germany and not since 2011 but rather since 1982 when she was born. She only probably applied for a German or EU passport in 2011 because there was no need for one previously.

I believe her father is German. She's spoken German on some talk shows, though I don't speak it myself so I can't attest to how good it was.

I started the question, so excuse me for others replying in a silly way! 😂

I have been born in the USA and I am of Indian origin, so I am a US citizen by virtue of birth. I never got the opportunity for dual nationality, just I have a PIO card.
So that is why I raised the question.
