Worst Kevin Spacey movie?

Granted, I'm a relatively new fan of his. I've seen American Beauty, Se7en, The Usual Suspects, Horrible Bosses, 21, The Shipping News, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Pay It Forward and a few others.

I absolutely HATED The Shipping News. To sum it up in one word, abysmal. I usually like movies about people returning to their small hometowns, but this movie left me feeling depressed as hell.

What are some of your least favorite Spacey films?

"Least favorite - Outbreak was a mess of a film, Henry and June wasn't great either but the worst for me would be Telstar: The Joe Meek Story."

I haven't seen Telstar – much to my shame I must confess I had totally forgotten that Kevin was playing in that film! – but I agree with you about Henry and June, which is a rare example of how boring an erotic film can be sometimes, and to a lesser degree, Outbreak. Pay it forward has a tear-jerker side that is not everyone's cup of tea, and Superman returns is a rather weak popcorn movie. But in my opinion, the worst of all is Men who stare at goats, which I found painfully dull and unfunny.

On the other hand I LOVED The Shipping news, but then I don't mind depressing films and I'm a big fan of Bergman's and Antonioni's.

Oddly enough, "Pay It Forward" didn't depress me because I honestly couldn't stand that little kid.

Thanks for the advice, Beavers and Ducks. I haven't seen Outbreak but now I'm tempted to because whenever someone says NOT to watch something, the first thing I do is go watch it!

Haha, I will definitely check out Swimming with Sharks, too. Thanks.

My bet is you'll be delighted by Outbreak. Even Dustin Hoffmann manages to be terrible in that movie.
