"Strong man" physically defending "weak woman" is backwards and reactionary

I'm surprised even the staunchest defenders of Smith haven't noticed this. We know Jada wasn't happy about the joke. Beyond that, we don't know anything. Did she agree with Smith using physical force and berating Rock? Using expletives on live TV while children are watching? Bringing even more attention to her disease and marriage situation?

We'll never know, because by taking things in his own hands (literally), Will took away all agency from Jada. Maybe she would've liked to confront Chris herself, not even physically, but with words? Or discuss things in private, or release a statement later? Will doesn't have alopecia, yet the one who does had no voice whatsoever in the entire thing. By resorting to physical violence, Will chose the most masuline approach possible: "Women are too weak to defend themselves, they need a strong man to protect them." This is as backwards and reactionary as it gets, not to mention that it's all about him now. Overall, I can't see how Jada could be happy with the situation.

Not really ... here it is just the context and there situation and the fact that Will Smith is a fight-trained individual, outweighs Chris Rock and is a whole head taller than Rock - what a bully.

Half a head at best. Rock is 5ft 10, Smith 6ft 1.5.
