I think the OP meant that he gave up trying to pick more Oscar-baity roles once he won the first for Scent of a Woman.
Personally, I don't think he deserved the Oscar in 1993 but he should have won at least two during the 70's. It's a real shame that Al Pacino isn't a double Oscar winner.

share^Um, you need to do your HOMEWORK when it comes to OSCAR winners. KATHARINE HEPBURN won 4 during her career. And so far MERYL STREEP and DANIEL DAY LEWIS have 3, and could possibly win 4 before their time is up. All I'm saying is, MR. PACINO should have gotten his just due during his PRIME, and was cheated. I hope he can at least pull in a second win though, even if it's in a SUPPORTING role.
