Is he actually an asshole?

I grew up loving Bacon but I’m starting to think he’s a bit of a dickhead. I’ve read that he frequently hijacks productions and demands more screentime and erases unflattering elements of his characters to make him seem more cool. I’m not sure if that’s true, but based on what happened to the new Tremors, I’m inclined to believe it is true.
