I am sad to see the boards go.

This was a wonderful place to come to discover all about movies / tv shows and it still has some great information.(Until the 20th)

If there was a a movie you liked, no matter the genre, you could read the board and almost always there would be a thread of "if you liked this movie" there.
There you could see other titles listed and always I would find interesting suggestions to fill my next movie night.

If there were things you perhaps did not understand about a movie or missed, you could always ask by starting your own thread. Most people were very helpful and often there would be some discussion about things, sometimes heated but enlightening in some form or at least entertaining.

I for one am going to miss these boards terribly for the individuals who had insights into a movie, or a timeline or the historical perspective behind the movie and how often they could point you to another source on the internet to read up on it.

Unfortunately, the trolls and others who just do not know how to behave have made this a place that was not nearly as enjoyable.
Those of you who fall into this category I thumb my nose at you!
This is why we can't have cool things.

One by one all of these social areas of the internet are falling and it is to the detriment of us all.

For all of you who used the site constructively and in a positive fashion I will miss all of your contributions to the part of IMDB that was fantastic.
Thank you all.

IMDB Discussion boards, I truly am going to miss you.

I'm very sad to see the boards go also, having used them regularly for nearly twenty years. Hopefully the powers that be will reverse the decision at some point. I'm sure they are keenly aware that traffic will shrink (if not slow to a trickle) without the boards, with Wikipedia and other film sites, but it's the price we pay to not have to deal with negative vibes that pop up occasionally on some boards.

Simpson 10, terrorists 8

I am also sorry to see the boards go.

Although IMDB states that only a few users still use the boards, I do believe they will notice a shortage in page traffic. Maybe they will rethink this decision.

If not, well then I had a good time here. Plenty of questions answered. Sorry but for contemporary social media doesn't compare to the good old boards.

I feel exactly the same way ! The Message Boards were the best part of IMDB for me, even more than the Reviews. I loved going in to look up a particular episode of an old TV Show to read the Cast list and any commentary that another Fan might have made.
Does anyone know of another website where you can look up an episode of a Show ?
Thank you, Fellow Fans !

This is an update on my previous post....I've just learned that IMDB does indeed still let you look up particular episodes of TV Shows and shows the Cast Listing...but we can't post comments and questions anymore...do you think the "trolls" are responsible for this ?

smurky...to tell you the truth, I honestly think it's greed. It's all about money and they weren't making money off of the boards so they destroyed them with no regards to their loyal users.

Well, we have these, and there IS IMDB v2.0
