70s
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
And similar style horror movies such as hill have eyes.
Jaws
Various redneck movies. Usually with Burt Reynolds or Eastwood.

80s
Slashers! Friday, nightmare etc.
Back to the future
Breakfast Club and other teen films.
Action movies. Rambo, commando, missing in action, terminator which is also horror to me. And last van damn movies.
Comedys. Best decade for comedy in my opinion. Lampoon's vacation, fletch, John candy films etc.

90s
Teen horror flicks in the late 90s starting with scream, I know last what you did last summer, urban legends etc.
Thrillers such as breakdown, the game, hand that rocks the cradle. Home invasion films etc.
Disaster films. Independence day, Armageddon etc.
Dumb and dumber for comedy and I'll give Joe dirt to the 90s since it's a 90s style comedy.

00s
Romcoms. Definitely the decade of romance comedys and a nice comeback for comedy after the shitty 90s. Fuck early Sandler and late Sandler too for the most part. Also fuck all the stupid unfunny Chris Farley movies.

Some good horror films before horror went to shit in the 10s. Last house on the left, dawn of the dead, devils rejects etc.

A few good random films that stand out. National treasure, prestige.
