Modern directors with more static camera?

Personally for me most films lose a lot more magic when the camera is moving too much, in fact the more the less engagement on my part as I become more aware of me watching the film instead of participating in its imaginary world. Could you name any working modern filmmakers who are a lot more invisible as far as the technique, more relaxed editing, simple set ups or more static camera. I am only aware of Scott Cooper and Paul T. Anderson now, especially based on their recent films, this old fashioned style often make their films more authentic and convincing. Could anyone name more that come to your mind now? Thank you.

I'd suggest check this video and its comments. It's exactly about what you're talking about.

i agree with you. i know nothing about film theory, but i certainly find it distracting when camerawork is overly busy or showy.

i think david lowery is an example of someone who keeps things calm as far as that goes, or at least he does in ghost story.

bong joon ho might be another example. yorgos lanthimos too, maybe, although he does use a lot of odd angles & blocking, at least in his earlier films.
