Thanos and Rhas al Gul similar villains?

Sure they look completely different and one if from earth and the other is a cosmic villain but both at least on screen have a good intention or have an understandable reason for their action but had the wrong of doing things.

In Batman Begins Rhas al Gul wanted to destroy Gotham city because of how wrong it was doing full of crime and people living scared and in bad conditions mostly.
In his very wrong and twisted way he wanted to clean the cityor thought he was helping even though he clearly wasn’t.

Thanos wanted to destroy half the universe because of lack of resources and thought the world was in a horrible state.
