The Nun - Over/Under - Does The Nun Push The Conjuring Franchise To be The highest Grossing Horror Franchise of all time

I dunno.

I think people might reclassify the Star Wars movies as horror films after The Last Jedi.

In all seriousness though The Conjuring movies do horror properly and are fun flicks.

I think there's another Alien film in the works but I wouldn't worry about it doing well after the last two Fox pumped out.

i'll give the nun a 70% chance of breaking $300m. the trailer looked pretty good to me, & i don't think there's any sign people are burned out on these films. & it occupies the same slot roughly that 'it' did last year. that's not to say that you can extrapolate that same level of success, of course, but people may be hungry for another well-made, frightening movie in that period.

i think the series has mostly been pretty good, solidly entertaining. they slightly irk me, because i really don't like to see anything that might bolster the reputation of the warren's receiving so much attention, but i can't deny that they've all worked pretty well as horror fare. the only exception to that might be the first annabelle, which i recall being a bit of a dud.

for the most part, these films have featured directors & actors better than we'd expect for horror genre films (though i think that's become less of an issue in recent years). if they maintain their quality control, i agree that this is a series that could run & be lucrative for a good length of time.

I will see this down the road.

IMO In The next 5 years, This franchise is gonna put the record out of reach....

They just announced Annebelle 3 and its going to have Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in it....I could easily see that Having bigger success than The Nun, A 100 Million domestic and 300 Million WW+ total is almost a certainty

The Nun 2 and 3 are guaranteed

The Conjuring 3 is coming

The Crooked Man is coming...

WB has Stumbled on to a GOLD mine with this franchise, what make it So special Is All of these films in the franchise are made and can be made with Modest Budgets...

Its very rare in Hollywood you have a franchise that each film can make over 100 M domestically and 300 M WW + and those film can be made for under 40 Million....

Right Now The Conjuring Franchise is at a combined 1.550 Billion + in Box office and They've ONLY spent A Combined 104 Million dollars making all the films....

The average Budget is close to 25 Million for these films

In the next 5 years, The Conjuring Franchise is probably going to add at least another 1 Billion + in Box office!
