Trending Concept Query

I'm a Netflix subscriber.

I see the "Trending" section on screen, therefore I've always wondered what the point of that section is. I do notice that most films there are terrible, so they probably go there to die.

is the "Trending" section on this site the same concept as the Netflix section?

The "Trending" section is comprised of the boards with the most recent replies. The time on the bottom (5 minutes, an hour, etc) is how long ago the last comment was on that board. It'a useful to see where people have been posting.
