The Wild Wild West (1965-1969)

Any other fans of this great series here? It's a perfect mix of action and adventure in a Western setting with two extremely likable main characters.

It focuses on two Secret Service Agents who travel around the country on their own train. There's the sexy man of action James West (Robert Conrad)and the charming and highly intelligent Artemus Gordon(Ross Martin). Artemus is a master of disguise and this gives Martin an opportunity to showcase his excellent gift for accents. The pair were friends in real life and that explains the amazing chemistry between them on screen.

The series is such good fun and has one of the funkiest theme tunes I've ever heard.

Loved it back in the day. Now it's terribly lame. Terrible scripts and pedestrian acting.

The Wild Wild West was the cornerstone of my Friday night viewing ritual during my pre-teen years, with Man from U.N.C.L.E., Star Trek, The Avengers, Guns of Will Sonnet, and Judd for the Defense filling out the night depending on the season.

We always watched it when it was new. I still like the Doctor Loveless episodes. Michael Dunn is a fav of mine. He had such a beautiful singing voice .. wish that they had let him sing more often. This on his page : "In the 60s, encouraged by actor Roddy McDowall, he and actress Phoebe Dorin formed a slightly bizarre but popular New York song-and-comedy nightclub act, which eventually led to their being cast on TV's The Wild Wild West (1965) as evil Dr. Loveless and his assistant, Antoinette."

The Wild Wild West was my favorite TV series after The Man from U.N.C.L.E. I liked all of the Bond spinoffs including Honey West, Blue Light, Secret Agent, but WWW was special. The first season was incredibly well-written and produced, the stories were believable and engaging, and the acting was always good. Ross Martin was better than any other actor on TV, and Artemus Gordon is still my all-time favorite TV character.

Great show. Love re-watching it on METV! Was always a fan of Ross Martin. He was incredibly talented. And Bob Conrad was perfect as James West.

It is my favorite Tv show of all time. I have dvd box sets of the seasons. This show is James Bond in the Old West or just after the Civil War. Couldn't be better. Never been able to look at Will Smith after the travesty movie he made of Wild Wild West. I read the film was big flop too which didn't surprise me. It was terrible.

A few years ago I watched the first season and I thought it was fantastic. One of the best, most entertaining seasons of any tv series I've seen. But I stopped there. I didn't go on to season two. Gotta go and watch it all over again but continue on through the entire series.
