No matter which "name" you elect to use the fact remains that he is, and forever will be, the Worlds Greatest Entertainer.
I am fortunate to own one of the Largest (private) Elvis Presley Collections in the World. With over (cataloged) 70,000 photos, and collecting "anything/everything" related to Elvis, there is never a time considered "mundane" when it applies to Elvis.
Many of Elvis' relatives, and friends, have passed away since Elvis died on August 16, 1977. Now, more than ever, it is imcumbent on us (i.e. those who knew him - saw him perform firsthand - and studied him) to (a) share our information and (b) ensure that this Legacy is accurately protrayed and protected.
Elvis was a UNIQUE combination of "onstage DYNMO" and "offstage complications".
Over the next few months, as I get more and more familiar with IMDb I will be sharing some of my insights...and hope that you do as well.
Elvis left us a legacy of work in his recordings, movies, concerts, documentarys, etc. that consistently "awe" us...and inspire us. We are thankful for that and we never take Elvis' talents...for granted.

No, Colonel Parker did not try.
First of all his contracts with RCA, and several other vendors, remained intact. Also, the amount of money that he "settled" all claims against him for was a fraction of the amount of monies that he had.
It came out during the "interrogratories/Deposition" that Colonel Parker was NOT a US Citizen and was in fact an ILLEGAL ALIEN. Colonel Parker became ill and his condition got worse. Similar to the effect it had on ELvis, when the book "Elvis What Happened" came out, Colonel Parker was "OFF LIMITS" to Companys during the Estate Trial and many in the Entertainment business were SHOCKED to find out what he was able to take from Elvis AND how "ruthless" he was during the legal proceedings.
I believe, and my correspondences to him and from him, from the 1980's until his passing confirm that when Elvis died Colonel Parker's "day in the son" was gone. Many times Colonel Parker cried and he was NOT a man to cry. As the years passed by the guilt, combined with the fans still interested in him and his wife and his health, kind of "renewed him" like in the movie SCROOGE. There are paralells.
I don't believe that there will EVER be "another Elvis". His talents were evident for THREE DECADES and his touring/Concerts (i.e. sales, sold out stadiums, Las Vegas, etc.) Records will NEVER be equalled. The desire to want to help others and do so routinely and NOT for public accolades and/or tax breaks. The REAL SINGING and his Live Concerts were not "enhanced" and he NEVER sang to a "track". Far too many of the "singers" today are just...lip syncing. Elvis Aron Presley was an INCREDIBLE man, Father, Entertainer, and person.
