Why do Republicans care about banning contraceptives? Do they want women to become pregnant?

Almost every single one of them voted against contraceptive support. This might lead to an undesired increase in women seeking abortion for unplanned and unintended pregnancies, don't they realize that? Why would they want women to get pregnant in the first place?
