Latinos say racist things on TV in their own language channels

I just watched an interview on telemundo with the founder of Duolingo, who is from Guatemala.

After it was over the host said 'good to see one of us doing well'.

One of us? The host is not from Guatemala. They're talking about "latinos" doing well.

Imagine if there was a collective word for the English speaking countries and we had a word for ourselves? Imagine an Irishman reporting on a CEO from New Zealand doing great and saying 'great to see one of us doing well'?

So I find this whole "latino" identity to be really racist. It's just people from different countries who share a language pretending that they are a united culture.

So, one guy made a generic nice statement about being glad to see someone doing well. With all the things going on in this world, is this really something to be upset about? He did not say he wanted to see others fail. He didn’t say he would refuse to work with other ethnicities. There is nothing offensive about wishing someone well.

It’s the “one of us” mentality. Unless someone is the same Nationality, you’re linking them together by race, and that is racism.

We will disagree. “Latino” is not a race. We are all part of the human race.

You have to understand...none of this really has anything to do with race. It's about communism. Hispanics embraced communism, so they are good to go. Western White people did not embrace communism, and that's why they are hated.
