Can you spot Fake News?

Or as I think of it, False Light News. For example:

A firefighter is at home taking a shower. He hears a commotion outside so he looks out his window. He sees a car flipped over, leaking gas, and on fire. He runs outside naked, and pulls a young mother and her two young daughters out of the burning car.

Which of these two headlines is factually inaccurate:

1. Local Firefighter Saves Family From Burning Vehicle

2. Local Man Publicly Exposes Himself To Two Young Children

You can only vote once. Have at it.

Yeah, it's in Daily Mail.
Or lots of nonsense is printed on April 1.

The news is real. The President is fake.

Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards.

I wouldn't classify either as "fake news," the latter is just an example of spin.

The journals "Science" and "Nature" also have a political agenda. - jon-gwynne
