Guy drives away, leaving footwear on ground -- probably a Pink Panther movie.

I recall that he was wearing pajamas, a robe and slippers, but if he was wearing regular clothes, the footwear must have been loafers or sandals to come off so easily. At any rate, a guy gets into a car (probably convertible) at the end of a long driveway. Opens the door, flops down in the seat, pulls his legs in, and one slipper/shoe/sandal stays on the ground. Closes the door, puts the car in gear, drives halfway or more down the lane, stops. Reverses to the exact spot, opens the door, sticks his leg out, gets his foot into the slipper, pulls his leg in, closes the door, puts the car in forward gear and zooms off again.

Any idea? I don't feel like watching every Pink Panther movie to track this down.
