Sitcom Set in Medical School?

I'm sure it must have been short-lived and I remember it for one kind of sad reason. One of the students on the show had been a nurse, and when she mentioned this, someone responded, "Well, I'm sure you'll get an A in thermometer." or something very close to that. I remember I repeated that to my mother, who was a nurse, thinking it was acidly witty. She didn't laugh, but just quietly nodded her head, and I immediately realized what a snide, derisive remark it was and how insensitive I was to even repeat it.

I'm guessing it would have been around 1980, give or take a year or two.
