Help Identify Movie | Early 2000s action/thriller/comedy

Hi guys - looking for some help to identify what I recall as a USA late 90s/early 2000s action/thriller/comedy. I seem to remember it having a black lead male character (but could be wrong). All I can remember is the ending where a female (also black it think) had been kidnapped/taken hostage by the bad guy, and she was kinda balanced high up at the front of a glass building, at night. Kind of on a mezzanine in the reception of a glass office building. She is rescued by the lead and the film kind of ends there. I'm thinking the female was someone like jada pinkett smith. Very similar vibe and atmosphere to Collateral (2004) - but not this. Thanks so much, G
