Question about Beyond The Walls

I'm just wondering if I missed something. In the beginning of the first episode Lisa's wedding ring is shown quite predominantly and she speaks of her husband. He is never shown, or mentioned again that I noticed. Did I miss something? Did a husband exist or was it just an excuse not be social?
Or was it something more?
