Honestly, the trailer makes this look pretentious and farcical.

Statues animating, Ancient Roman spectacles in NYC, asteroids falling from the sky onto the Gotham City-like landscape, Adam Driver's wooden emoting... This is going to go down in history as one of the all-time, campiest, overdone vanity projects ever made. People are going to make party games out of watching it and it may end Driver's career.

Yeah, they gave Francis a 7 minute standing ovation at Cannes, but guess what? The Emperor has no clothes.

It certainly will not end Adam Driver's career. Even if the movie is terrible, he has too many wins for that.

I think that, at the very least, the film will be an "interesting failure." Whether good or bad, it will be a film that is worth seeing once. And some critics seem to genuinely like it, so what we'll probably end up with here is a film that is polarizing and niche, but that gains a loyal fanbase.

They are desperate to sell this movie to at least sci-fi fans. But it's dead on arrival.

I never get interest to watch movie when whole trailer is just random pretty shots of nothing. Because it means movie has no plot. I need to know basic plot to know if I want to see it.

By all hints from journos who saw it - it's just a boring nonsense that tries to sell itself as sci-fi. But it will be just boring pretentious talk whole movie.
