I saw the film on Tv repeat a few weeks back and most of the lines i got but there was one I didn't understand, it was perhaps a dated refrence lost in history but basically when Fenwick's ministers meet up and are reading the countless offers of support from the ountries after learning that they now have the Q bomb they get a letter from 'china' anyway the lines went along line of

'We don't anything to with red china'

'Not THAT red china, the other one'

Does anyone know what was meant by that? thanks for reading.

The other China - Taiwan.

Actually the line was

'Not Red China, the other one'

The point was that Taiwan would just love to have the Q-Bomb so they could threaten Red China with it.

I don't know if this is true anymore but in the 1970's you used to see a lot of manufactured goods stamped "Made In Taiwan R.O.C." (Republic of China.) The bigger country was "People's Republic of China."
