Currently trying hard to watch Star Trek Discovery again (gave up a couple of episodes into season 2 following the Tilly half marathon disgrace) but it's really tough going.

She is an absolute disaster as a lead character in a series. The non stop dramatic whisper talk, the over exaggerated big eyes, the quivering lip. Unbelievable, in practically every single scene!

This show has different episode directors right? Has not one of them gone "You know what Sonequa, that was pretty good. But how about we tone it down just a LITTLE bit for this next take?"

Actually this was a pretty good comment.

When I was watching episodes after this they became much more bearable thinking of her as a modern day Shatner and I actually laughed a few times especially in anticipation of the lip quiver!

Mr Ackbar doesn't really believe this was a racist post (which obviously it wasn't).

He was just facetiously lampooning the sort of SJW responses you typically see to criticism of any non white actor, even if they're clearly doing a terrible job.

She's good looking, so she's got that. As for taking direction - maybe if Levar Burton directed an episode otherwise...
