Dawson would be sued for sexual harassment now.

He was all over those female contestants. And I don't recall him getting consent to kiss anyone.

reply

MY GRANDMOTHER CALLED HIM RICHARD PAWSON...RICHARD PAWS ON ALL THE WOMEN...SHE HATED THE WAY HE ACTED WITH THE WOMEN AND HIS OVERALL DEMEANOR.

reply

OF COURSE SHE WAS CONVINCED THE SHORT GUY THAT TOOK OVER FOR DAWSON WAS A SQUIRMY LITTLE FELLA THAT MUST HAVE SOME DEEP DARK SHIT IN HIS CLOSET...AND LOUIE ANDERSON WAS A "CREEPY FAIRY"...SO MAYBE SHE WAS PREJUDICED AGAINST FAMILY FEUD HOSTS.🤔

reply

I agree with your grandmother. Dawson was cringe with all the exaggerated affection and pawing women.

He is also responsible for that "squirmy little fella's" suicide.

Dawson would be sued for sexual harassment now.

5 years from now he would be arrested and charged with sexual harrassment.

15 years from now he would be arrested and charged with rape.

reply

Haha. I think Dawson was creepy but he didn't commit any crimes.

reply

Not yet!

Don't forget the 1970s was allegedly the "free love" decade.

At the time, his behavior was considered "progressive". It was assumed that someday society would eventually "catch up" to affirm/validate his entitlements.

Family Feud contestants had to take herpes tests when Richard Dawson was host, according to book

In the 1960's feminism was about women's freedom to fuck anyone she wanted whenever she wanted. Now feminism says heterosexuality is rape.

reply

I don't understand why he didn't sound British on Family Freud.

reply

Brits who have lived here a long time gradually lose the accent. And of course he may have toned down the accent for American tv.

I mean have you heard some British accents? Some of the more backwoods ones don't even sound like "English".

reply

At least he kissed girls. You wonder what it's like.

reply

What? You've never kissed a girl?

reply

How would you know if he got consent or not? Everyone coming on the show must have known he was doing that? So there's implicit consent? Besides, they could have asked them to sign something before the show started.

reply

Good point. They would have made contestants sign all sorts of legal waivers.

However, a legal document can be voided in court if it violates the law. They could claim sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is prosecutable even if a business has rules which make it "okay".

reply

How could such an agreement violate the law? Are you a judge or lawyer?

reply

Lol. You can make an employee, a guest or a client sign any sort of document you want. But if it includes acceptance of anything illegal under the law, it's void. Sexual harassment is illegal. The boss or the host or anyone can't force you to kiss them.

reply

Participation in the game show is voluntary. The putative contract would be take it or leave it.

reply

Going to work is voluntary. But the boss can't kiss you.

reply

Really? You equate work with getting a chance to go onto a game show? The courts see those as two verrry different things.

reply

We're talking about signing a legal waiver. Any waiver can be thrown out by a court. That applies anywhere, even a nunnery.

reply

Today, if you're any man who is rich and famous, you can have women after you accusing you of that. Or if you are going through divorce proceedings.

reply

He probably wouldn't act that way now, at least not on camera.
