πŸ“Œ THE POPUP VIDEO ADS now in the middle of the page, plus the POPUP ADS at the BOTTOM make this site UNUSABLE!!

You cannot X out the popup video ads until they have run and blocked the middle of the page for several seconds. STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The popup ads on the bottom of the page block the annoying Taboola ads. Does Taboola know that you are doing this, after paying Jim to run their ads??? You now cannot put an X to stop the gifs or videos in the Taboola ads.

Apparently you cannot download an ad blocker on a Chromebook. I looked for a solution.

On an older desktop computer, ad-blocking software takes up too much of the little memory available, to use them.

I always view MC on my Galaxy Android, using the default browser, & since installing the Disconnect ad blocker have had 0 fly over/pop up ads😎

I don't have a Smart phone and I'm not buying one.

Good for you!! Hell, I thought I was the only one who didn't have a Smartphone and give 0 fucks to ever own one?? It's not that I don't appreciate the technology and all, it's just that based on my observation in every day daily life, people are too reliant on them and need an App for just about everything, excluding wiping your ass.. πŸ€”

β€œexcluding wiping your ass”

You know there’s an App for that πŸ˜‰

Does it have 3 virtual "sea shells"?πŸ˜„

We never did find out what they were for πŸ€”

reply

They never did explain it, but I know there's probably a ton of fan theories on it out there.

I think there is an archived IMDb thread on it, on the Demolition Man page.

Download Duck duck go. Problem solved.

I did a Google Search, opened Duck Duck Go and used that to open MovieChat. That eliminated the popup videos in the middle of the page, which slow this site to a crawl.

The Taboola ads at the bottom, plus the ads in the middle and the popup ads at the bottom all remain. I have 1.5 GB of memory, so I cannot use the memory for a popup blocker. They take too much memory for themselves.

MovieChat is supposed to be a nonprofit organization. How much money is Jim making from this? Burying it with more and more ads?

reply

It also makes a fake email for you if you have to enter it somewhere so you don't have to give out your email. As far as Jim, I would do the same. It's not free to run a website, maybe it pays for itself?

Try Brave Browser. I have it on my Android phone and my Macbook. It blocks ads, pop-ups & redirects.

It's pretty darn excellent.

reply

Same here. Also added uBlock Origin to Brave.

That was my 'set-up' for years until last month. Due to my "old" computer, it's not compatible with the new browsers. I stuck with Brave until it was unusable, and by that time Firefox produced a new limited-time (I think its service will end by the end of this year) version that works with my Mac Pro. uBlock has always been great, indeed!

I'm hoping to find a new usable browser by end-of-year.

There's no such thing as an ad pop up blocker for amazon's kindle fire So I'm getting a lot of pop ups bottom middle and top .

Edge on Android (sideload on FireOS). Adguard extension on desktop, runs with 4GB ram.

reply

Use an ad block. I have none of these using my vpn πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Yet you’re still using it
