Youtube is really boring

I used to listen to a lot of movie reviews but it seems like everyone is going for the movie news podcast rather than reviews. Disney did this, the earnings of that, marvel flops it again, etc...

It gets old.

You could listen to politics, but that's usually balderdash with commercials for VPN's and buying a little land in Scotland scams.

Documentaries were plentiful... but now the landscape is full of hacks who'd rather give their perspective rather than outline the history.

Then there are shorts. The addictive and stupid fast cut malarkey used to trap youth in an endless cycle of random shit which they'll rarely use to better their lives.

After that, your stuck with the algorithm resurrecting things you've already watched.

It's really more of a habit than fun.

If you wanted to list more interests, I'm sure you'd have more recommendations that you could finish in a lifetime.I have a wide variety of interests, so I'll scan through my subscriptions and try to keep it general and varied:

@Taskmaster - this is the original UK version and this channel has 16+ seasons of a brilliant game/chat show that pits five comedians against each other both solo and as teams performing a variety of ordinary to bizarre tasks. It is so popular there are at least seven other unique versions of the show: AU, NZ, and at least three or four non-English European countries. As an American, I found the one season done in the U.S. to be the weakest, so save that for last. Inside scoop, the Taskmaster's "assistant," is actually the creator of the show and writes/creates/hosts each task, while the Taskmaster (show host) is 6'8" and comically abuses him throughout the show. They curse a lot, and the free US YT channel is censored, which doesn't take too much away, but if you can find the UK show uncensored, all the better.

@GoodMythicalMorning & @GoodMythicalMORE - U.S. variety comedy show(s). Give it a shot.

@DailyDoseOfInternet - I just realized that my first three recs are incredibly popular, but worth mentioning just in case. Random funny videos. Each is quite short, but there are plenty of hour+ compilation videos out there.

@BestEverFoodReviewShow - Food/travel with a (imo) funny host and often co-host.

@AndreAntunesofficial - musical genius who turns various yelling/other genres of music in to metal. You'd swear he used autotune, but he's that brilliant, he really doesn't. Just plays guitar on one track, bass on another, and drums (not sure if acoustic) on the third, then the original video becomes the vocals. I feel this description doesn't do it justice, so one of my favorites: https://youtu.be/4n7bUYBYZPE

cont'd.

@AlanResnicks - Became "famous" for his short films often shown as infomercials on Adult Swim. Many can be...unsettling. I call him the David Lynch of YT. One of his more famous ones: "This House has People in It" and "Unedited Footage of a Bear:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gMjJNGg9Z8

@InternetHistorian - of course he's famous, but just in case...

@Accursed_Farms - comically overdubs Gordon Freeman's inner dialogue from Half-Life & HL2

@BadLipReading - of course you love them, but wth

@LABEAST - one of my first YT subs. Competitive eating and all other kinds idiocy. Became famous (like TV news famous) for breaking his toe in one of his earlier videos. More than a few end with him on the toilet for various reasons, often saying "I should probably go to the hospital." He has consistently made me laugh for over ten years and hasn't changed a thing. And no clickbait, ever.

Hope some of these changed your YT apathy.
