I can't be any clearer. I just had a conversation yesterday on four different forums who couldn't even read the first sentence.

Rashomon for sure. Can't beat Kurosawa in the samurai genre.
Asphalt Jungle and Sunset Blvd are great too.
I don't like All About Eve. It is proto-Diva stuff that is just as tedious then as now. (Always felt Davis was overrated)

Some titles from that year that I know I saw but cannot remember at all. For instance, I know I saw The Gunfighter but recall not a thing about it or if I even liked it.

EDIT: Also loved the Abbot and Costello join the Foreign Legion movie.
