Pretty Good

Not great. This film is recognizably based on the infamous 1942 PQ Whatsis convoy that the British ordered to disperse and left without escort - fearing German surface ships, that never materialized. This movie is set on a single ship of the convoy, proceeding alone, without support or any certainty of what is going on.

There are some things wrong here, like a U-boat on the surface in the middle of the convoy (Might be excused... The sub may have experienced some serious malfunction from... unseen previous damage?)... Overall, I am trying to ignore the certain or probable inaccuracies (Some sailor tied a really bad knot. Drifting in a perilous situation is somehow better than making steerageway...) because I just sat through The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and, by comparison, this film is a documentary.

Effects are very good. Acting, editing, the overall look of the film... All great. The characters and their conflicts are a bit luke-warm and lack the intensity that would make the movie great.
