So this movie criticizing capitalisms while engaging in capitalism.

Im not saying that Capitalism is the greatest thing. But kind of makes them hypocrites.

And they'll totally blame piracy if it eats into their capitalistic profits.

Makes you think, eh?

reply

But they used the obvious implausible narratives to get you to defend capitalism, isn't that the true spirits of capitalism?

Remember in "Live Free or Die Hard" when Matt Farrell said news was manipulated, I think it was the same thing.

reply

True. It also mocks Barbie and celebrates her while condemning sexism against women but also promoting sexism against men. Lots of mixed messages going on.

reply

There is no mixed messages, it does not promote gender equality, it is a feminist fantasy of matriarchy, I think that is about it.

Capitalism tends to do that. Think of the music industry, which provides countless examples. Think of all of all those punk and alternative bands that signed to major labels. Do you think CBS/Sony execs gave a crap what political messages The Clash were sending? Nah. These companies will exploit any trend, usually watering it down for mainstream acceptance and profit from it.

Doesn't matter to them. It's not hypocrisy on the part of the companies -- because they exist only to make profit. They don't have any other values to go against.

Hypocrisy on the part of the artists working for them? Sometimes.
