I hadn't seen the Cruise reboot as the trailer didn't interest me at all. Reading the wiki on it was surprising. Even though I believed the film wasn't *my* speed, I was unaware of how universally reviled the reboot was/is.

Good to have something we can ALL agree on... I don't have anything against Tom Cruise or big dumb action films (The '99 Mummy is one) and I gave the reboot a chance.

My reaction is probably the worst of all - The reboot is mediocre on a level that makes me think of old TV movies... Not the great ones like Duel or The Night Stalker but ones like Cruise into Terror. The sort of film that will hold a special place only in the hearts of a few who saw it as a child and remember it as seen through the eyes of a ten year old. It's what you get when a movie is terribly weak in the three essential categories: Brains, Balls and Heart.
