I saw a tweet awhile ago that hit the nail on the head for me. It said;

You know what the biggest problem pushing all-things-AI is? Wrong direction. I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.

This really is the infuriating part of it all. I'm actually not scared of AI; I'm scared of how humans will implement it.

Getting rid of the jobs people are passionate about and want to do is not what I was looking forward to, but I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.

No I wouldn't either, but the implication is AI becoming so advanced it is indistinguishable from human-generated content. That might not be as far off as it seems to be, but I guess we'll see what happens.

Thankfully we have 80+ years of content to draw upon in case humans cease to be involved in the creation of new entertainment.
