I'm currently reading two:
"Icons of England" by Bill Bryson. (2008) Well, actually it's edited by him. He invited dozens of writers, commentators, and broadcasters to choose their favorite "icons of England." It's a collection of essays describing everything from the weather to history to the landscape. I'm finding it an enjoyable read.

"The End of Night - Searching for Natural Darkness in an Age of Artificial Light" by Paul Bogard. (2013) Light pollution is a thing for me. Most of us no longer experience true darkness. Eight out of ten Americans born today won't ever live where they can see the Milky Way. It's shameful, really. Throughout the book, he explains what we've lost, what's left, and what we can regain.

Just starting "Storyteller: The Authorized Biography of Roald Dahl" by Donald Sturrock.

Kinda makes me sad he did 'Way Out just to pay some medical bills. Sigh.

I just picked up "Untold Power: The Fascinating Rise and Complex Legacy of First Lady Edith Wilson" from the library. She was the wife of President Woodrow Wilson, and in 1919, effectively acted as the first woman US president - before women even had the right to vote, after her husband became ill.

Cheap Land Colorado: off-gridders at America's edge by Ted Conover who, in 2017, went to Colorado to experience rural life on the cheap, eventually buying his own land. Over four years, he discovers that the lives of his neighbors are tougher than he expected, many have criminal pasts, and basic services like electricity, water, and medical care are almost non-existent. He also explores the land scams that brought people to an area of southern Colorado that often experiences brutal weather.
